JAMMU, Apr 30: The delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislators today visited Rural Technology Park housed in the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) at Usman Nagar Gram Panchayat of District Medak in Telangana.
Established by the State Government under the aegis of Union Ministry of Rural Development, the Rural Technology Park showcases housing models, sanitary models (water less urinals), hand made paper, solar lights, ethnic Jewellery, homemade products and other livelihood related activities.
The team of J&K legislators, Dr Shenaz Ganai, Javed Beig, Ishfaq Sheikh and Shakti Parihar went around the Rural Technology Park and evinced great interest in the innovative craft and technology being promoted by the Telangana Government for development of rural areas of the state.
The delegation also visited Zila Parishad at Sanga Reddy, Gram Mandal and Gram Panchayat and interacted with the members to know about the functioning and the initiatives at local level.
Later, a presentation on status of Panchayats in Telangana was made by the Commissioner Anita Ramachandran.
