JAMMU, Mar 12: Jammu and Kashmir Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation led by its president Y V Sharma called on Financial Commissioner Industries and Commerce K A Ganai and discussed the issues of LoC traders here today.
The delegation also included members of JKJCCI, LoC traders and exporters connected with this trade. The issues raised with regard to LoC trade are mainly lack of interactive meetings between the business houses from both sides, non-availability of ISD dialing from State of LoC traders, lack of banking facilities, issue of permits for travelling, spoilage of goods during security procedures and sudden ban on movement of goods already allowed in the LoC list, inclusion of more items in the tradable goods, opening of more routes for LoC trade and arranging trade fairs and exhibitions on both sides of the LoC, exemption of tax on import of LoC goods besides provision of warehouses and cold storage facilities for the cross LoC traders.
Sujiv Jain Industrialist representing the Agro Industries in J&K, spoke on problems regarding refund of service tax to J&K based exporters and special incentives for disadvantage regions of J&K State under various incentive schemes of Foreign Trade Policy. Anil Gupta, another exporter suggested that some incentives be given to the J&K exporters on the analogy of China, Egypt and Ukraine etc. Rajinder Vaid and Hilal Turkey also expressed their view point.
