J&K is not ‘Jagir’ of Abdullah dynasty: Brig Gupta

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 18: Taking a dig at National Conference (NC) and its leaders BJP spokesperson Brig. (retd) Anil Gupta said “do the Abdullahs consider J&K as the Jagir (estate) of their dynasty?
Brig Gupta in a statement issued here, today took serious exception to remarks of former Chief Minster and NC patriarch, Dr Farooq Abdullah that “Modi is in danger”. He said while the father is day dreaming and has already announced himself as its representative in the Parliament, he has nominated his son, Omar Abdullah as the Chief Ministerial face of his party. Thus, in one stroke he has made the mockery of the democratic credentials of his party and put to rest the aspirations of other dedicated workers of the Party,” stated Brigadier Anil Gupta.
Brig Gupta further questioned the claim of Abdullahs as their party being most secular and messiah of communal harmony and wanting to know why a non-Kashmiri or a Hindu or Sikh or Buddhist cannot become the CM. Why only a direct descendent of Sheikh Abdullah should become the Chief Ministerial face of National Conference?
Taking a jibe at Farooq’s remark that “Modi is in danger”, Brig. Gupta said to the contrary it is the ‘dynasty’ which is in danger. The nervousness in the camp of the dynasty is obvious from the uneasiness being felt due to emergence of alternative political forces in the Valley. Omar as usual is playing the ‘victim card’ and blaming the Centre.
Unable to face the public anger and with defeat staring at its face, the party is looking forward to an alliance with already demoralised Congress. Together, they hope to meet the challenge of ever growing popularity of Modi and BJP. Farooq Abdullah is spitting same venom as he did five years ago. Many winds have blown across Pir Pranjal and Zozila in the last five years. People of J&K have seen the true face of Abdullahs and their ‘Kursi’ politics. To promote the dynastic rule and divide the people of J&K on regional and religious basis is the main agenda of their ‘opportunistic politics’, claimed Brig. Gupta.
He appealed to the proud people of Jammu to remember what all Abdullahs stand for? If there is an alliance between NC and Congress, it implies that Congress also seconds and subscribes to their agenda of greater autonomy, stopping operation All Out, Division of Jammu region on religious basis, deny gender equality to the women power, deny citizenship to West Pakistani refugees, allow Pakistanis to settle in J&K, removal of AFSPA, repeal of Public Safety Act and many other hidden agenda to promote Kashmiri hegemony.
He said people should think that should they support this agenda which is harmful to national cause.
