J&K gets ‘Certificate of Achievement’ in Food Safety

NEW DELHI, June 7: Jammu and Kashmir got “Certificate of Achievement” for catching up state in Food Safety Index.
The award was received by Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration, J&K, Vinod Sharma on behalf of the State Government from Union Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan during a function organized today in connection with “World Food Safety Day” at New Delhi.
Dr Harsh Vardhan was chief guest of the function and Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was guest of honour. Union Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Director General, Health and Medical Education were also present on the occasion. Representatives of all States were also present.
To all participants, oath was administered by Dr Harsh Vardhan, undertaking work for the cause of safe food, for every citizen of country, especially the poor and the most vulnerable sections of society, also to take steps to ensure personal and surrounding hygiene, which is fundamental to sustaining life with human dignity.
