JAMMU, Apr 20: J&K Ex-Services League held annual general meeting today at Ambphalla.
While speaking, president of the league Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal said that though the details of ‘One Rank One Pension’ announced by the Finance Minister in the Parliament have not been received yet, it is hoped that it will be implemented by which ever Government comes to power.
The ex-servicemen were unhappy that the State Government has not given VAT Relief, reservation at par with Himachal Pradesh including enrollment in police and even land for Sainik colonies has not been handed over yet.
Ex-servicemen were also upset for the delay in issuing arms licenses as they cannot get reemployment as security guards without a weapon.
They were assured that Government will be requested to expedite their licenses. There were also complaints for non issuance of Dogra Certificate which is affecting their employment. President asked them to send specific cases to be taken up with the Government.
He exhorted them to subscribe for the Ex-Servicemen monthly magazine which carries all the news including One Rank One Pension.
Brig RS Jamwal, Director Lakshya Defence Academy gave details of the facilities for training young men for the armed forces and belt forces as Commissioned Officers and jawans at Village Patti in Samba District.
He informed that out of 29 trained 15 have become officers and 23 jawans have also been recruited in last three months.
Brig SS Sambyal, senior vice president presented vote of thanks.
