JAMMU, Sept 24: Outpla-ying Uttarakhand convincingly, J&K Physically Challenged Cricket team sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing Super Six Divang T20 Championship, being held at Vadodara in Gujarat.
In the quarterfinal match, batting first, J&K scored 128 runs in 22 overs. International player Jagmohan top scored with 46 runs with 6 boundaries, while Firous Ahmad and Mohd Younis contributed 13 runs each.
From Uttarakhand, Narinder took 4 wickets, while Varinder Singh took 3 wickets. Nikhal and Jaypal Negi shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Uttarakhand Physically Challenged Cricket team made 108 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 20 runs.
Nikhal Kumar scored 24 runs, while Vikram Rana Khagta and Varinder Singh contributed 11 runs each for the team. From J&K, skipper Nadeem was the pick of the bowlers who took three important wickets, while Jagmohan, Mohd Younus and Firdouse Ahmad took 1 wickets each. Nadeem Ahmad was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling.
Jammu and Kashmir will lock horns with the Gujarat in the semifinal tomorrow.
