The latest rankings released by NHM on the basis of registration, conversion of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and patient feedback uploaded on the portal of JK e-Sahaj for the month of September 2022, on real time basis, is a testimony of consistent efforts by LG Administration to improve health infra, facilities and accountability of the hospital administration. It is really heartening to see far flung tertiary health infra among top performing names despite various constrains like COVID, new institutions, staff shortage and shows efforts are paying desired improvement. A healthy competition among the UT health facilities at different ground levels is really the need of the hour which is going to further improve existing manpower utilization, ease of use for patients, a proper feedback mechanism and a readily available data to plan for future staff and infra requisitions. On the basis of available information funds can also be redirected to performing and deserving health institutes. JK e Sahaj is a big leap in digital public health in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A Union Territory-wide hospital Management Information System (MIS) has brought new level of transparency to hospital administration. Under the JK eSAHAJ an online booking of appointment has definitely cut the patient queue at the OPD centers across all the hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir, with an ABDM complaint process in the hospital, the portability of health records has been ensured. Further, there will be an e-prescription system which means that patients will get prescriptions as an SMS and a PDF in real time on their mobiles. At the same time, the patients don’t have to keep bulky medical record papers as under the JK eSAHAJ there will be digitalized health records which can be produced at any moment for ready referral.
Though there is always scope of improvement but sincere and consistent efforts have already made it possible to provide 575 facilities, 104 Centralized Health Helpline for outbound calling under first phase and further facilities to be extended in next phases. Administration efforts are in right direction to fulfill the commitment of delivery of best medical facilities at the doorsteps of last man standing and are very much appreciated by the public.
