Exclusively meant for the visiting Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, the ‘J&K Cultural Show’ was a unique variety of different cultural flowers and essences of J&K which showcased the varied dance traditions of the J&K State. ICCR Jammu started this show series on July I, 2016 and since then,   thousands of pilgrims and locals had the life-time occasion to witness this  cultural bonanza which they term as one of the most memorable thing which they have witnessed during their Yatra.
Majority of the pilgrims could be seen, recording the entire cultural presentation of ‘J&K Cultural Show’ on their video cameras, still cameras and smart phones with the objective to disseminate this most prized cultural souvenir back home amongst their relative and friends. Balwant Thakur further said that for the first-time total professional approach has gone into creating this unique bouquet of varied cultural flowers.
He added that all has been possible due to the personal involvement of the Director Tourism Jammu, Sushma Chauhan.
This unique cultural show was focused on Jammu’s traditional folk dance Kud besides showcasing Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari and Bhadarwahi cultures. Each dance presentation, despite being different from the other in rhythm and pace, was artistically blended with each other so as to present their wonderful harmony and co-relation.
