JAMMU, July 2: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), celebrated its 66th CA Foundation Day . On the occasion the J&K branch of ICAI organized various activities such as Blood donation Camp, Plantation Drive, Tax awareness program etc.
A large number of Chartered Accountants & CA students participated overwhelmingly & donated blood at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion & JKSACS. The J&K Branch has been organizing such camps consecutively for the past several years to mark CA Day celebrations falling on July 1 every year.
Flag Hoisting Ceremony & plantation drive was also held on the occasion at the ICAI Branch Building wherein MLA Jammu West, CA Sat Sharma was also present.
A family get together was also organized wherein apart from holding fun filled activities, Senior members & newly qualified chartered Accountants of the branch were also felicitated by CA. Sat Sharma (MLA) , Jammu west & Simrandeep Singh, Dy. Commissioner , Jammu who were the chief guest & guest of honor respectively on the occasion.
CA. Anil Sharma, Chairman J&K Branch in his inaugural address welcomed the guests & emphasized on the importance of the CA Day.He further said that State government machinery should involve CAs at various appropriate levels for professional inputs.
Speaking on the occasion, CA. Sat Sharma & Sh. Simrandeep Singh appreciated role of CA professionals in the society. Simrandeep Singh also invited the CA fraternity to give presentation in regard to various areas of the State where their services can be utilsed
Later during the program, J&K Branch also awarded “CA. R.C. Gupta Memorial” award, “Sh. Tilak Raj Malhotra Memorial Award,” Smt. Sudesh Sawhney Memorial Award” & CA. Omesh Gupta Memorial Award to the meritorious students of CA final examination during 2014.
CA. Shalay Razdan, Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings. CA. Deepak Kapahi, (Vice Chairman), CA. Dalip K Kaul, CA. Vikram Garg, both Ex Chairmen, alongwith a large number of Chartered Accountants & students & their families took part in the celebrations.
