SRINAGAR, Mar 18: J&K Bank’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Srinagar, conducted a valedictory function on successful completion of a 30-day tailoring-course attended by a batch of 31 young women. In line with the National Mission to boost entrepreneurship among the youth, the institute conducted the course that included basic lessons on designing and tailoring besides soft skills needed for successful entrepreneurship.
Distributing certificates besides hand-loom cards among the pass-outs on successful completion of the course, Director RSETI Srinagar, Mehjabeen Mir said, “Emphasis should be laid on the importance of self-employment especially in the current scenario when there is paucity of jobs”. She added that the youth have to acquire different skills in order to be self-reliant first and then try to employ others to create a movement of self-sufficiency thereby displaying responsibility towards upliftment of the local economies.
Expressing satisfaction over the conduct of the course, the aspiring entrepreneurs exuded confidence and seemed determined to earn livelihood for themselves and their families. Showcasing their abilities after the successful completion of the practical course, the candidates designed and self-stitched their own uniforms besides designing other garments.
In order to professionally evaluate the work done by candidates, the institute had also roped in the Valley’s Handloom Department that provided them with registration cards after evaluation. These registration cards will help the trained candidates to take financial help from different banks in future.
Pertinently, J&K Bank’s RSETIs have been imparting training thereby upgrading skill profile of youth geared towards entrepreneurship development with active support from the Government.
