J&K Bank organizes awareness prog on high density plantation

SRINAGAR, Feb 4: J&K Bank today organized an awareness camp on the High Density Apple Plantation (HDP) Scheme at Govt Degree College Pulwama, bringing together various stakeholders including farmers and horticulture experts to promote advanced agricultural practices in the region.
Additional DC Pulwama, S M Ashraf presided over the camp in the presence of Bank’s GM & Divisional Head (Kashmir) Shabir Ahmad, Zonal Head Pulwama Shaista Khan, DGM Rakesh Magotra, LDM Showkat Ahmad Masoodi, Cluster Heads of Pulwama and Shopian, District Horticulture Officer, Gousia, and Principal of Govt. Degree College Pulwama, Dr Harris.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic engagement from branch heads of Pulwama and Shopian districts, local growers and representatives from private enterprises, reflecting a collaborative effort to drive sustainable agricultural growth. Appreciating the Bank’s proactive approach at the camp, ADC Pulwama said, “High density farming is going on in a mission mode in our district and we are proud to be number one district in the valley. J&K Bank’s initiative to promote high-density plantation reflects its deep commitment to the welfare of farming community and is poised to double your income.”
Urging the growers to shun conventional farming and adopt progressive methods through high-density farming, Divisional Head (Kashmir) Shabir Ahmad stated, “This initiative underscores our mission to drive rural prosperity. By facilitating high-density plantation, we are enabling farmers to maximize their yield potential and profitability while enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring long-term economic sustainability in the area.”
Highlighting the scheme’s features, DGM Rakesh Magotra remarked, ” High-Density Plantation Scheme is designed to help farmers establish modern orchards with high-yielding varieties and offers collateral-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh.”
During the event, several progressive farmers were handed on-the-spot sanction letters for High-Density Plantation loans.
