SAMBA, Feb 23: Continuing with its endeavor to empower people and take banking facilities to grass-root level, Jammu and Kashmir Bank today threw open an Easy Banking Unit (EBU) in the remote village Sarna, here.
J&K Bank President Ashutosh Sareen inaugurated the EBU in presence of Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal former Minister Health and Medical Education, bank officials, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent persons of the area.
Asserting that J&K Bank envisages to cover more and more unbanked segments of J&K UT, Ashutosh Sareen told the participants that opening an EBU in the area will go long way in facilitating the economic development of area. He urged people to make most of the banking and allied facilities for their own benefit.
“Owing to the sheer trust of the people in this organization coupled with able guidance of our worthy Chairman and Managing Director R K Chhibber, J&K Bank is contributing in a major way towards the progress and development of the UT”, he added.
Devinder Kumar along with local residents of the area highly appreciated the Bank for fulfilling their long pending demand for opening of an EBU at Sarna.
In the end, Cluster Head Samba Arun Kapur presented vote of thanks.
The latest addition takes number of J&K Bank EBUs to 71.
