J&K Bank holds awareness camps, concludes training programme

SRINAGAR, Jan 13: Disseminating the information about Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) in Baramulla J&K Bank conducted various financial literacy camps in blocks Kunzer, Wagoora and Singhpora in Baramulla.
The camps were attended by the local inhabitants comprising of farmers, teachers, students and other craftsmen.
Speaking at a camp, Facilitator FLCC Baramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar informed the audience about financial planning, budgeting, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, khidmat centres, difference between formal and informal sources of borrowing, different type of borrowings.
He also deliberated upon Kissan Credit Card Scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks for awareness of the audience. He stressed upon the proper end use of funds by establishment of units and repayment of regular installments.
The facilitator apprised the particpants in detail about the Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna for comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country by a six pillar approach in two phases.
Since the overdraft facility is preferably to be allowed to the females, the facilitator urged upon the audience to open two accounts both for male and female heads of the family as per the scheme.
He also spoke about Electronic Benefit Funds Transfer (RTGS & NEFT).
Javaid Ahmad Pandith Business correspondent for the village was also introduced on the occasion.
Certain clarifications were sought by the audience regarding Jhan Dhan Yojna and various products of bank which were duly addressed by the speakers on spot.
The camp ended with a vote of thanks.
After the literacy camp the branch staff along with business correspondent started village survey and opening of accounts under Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna.
Meanwhile, J&K Bank RSETI Poonch concluded 30-days training programme on “Plumbing & Sanitory Fitting” and “General EDP” in which 53 unemployed candidates from various villages of district Poonch were imparted training.
Zonal Head Jammu (West) Nazir Ahmad Teli was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
He explained to trainees in detail about the benefits of adopting self-employment in the present economic scenario and assured them full support from the Bank. He also instructed Heads of business units of District Poonch to keep deputing candidates of sponsored schemes for such training programmes to RSETI, Poonch.
Cluster Head Poonch, Ghulam Jeelani Dar, Lead District Manager Mohd Shafi Ayaz, Facilitator FLCC Kuldeep Sharma, Heads B/U Poonch (Main) S K Gupta, and S K Bridge R Puri were also present in the function.
