JAMMU, Nov 12: Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, called on N N Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today.
During the meeting, Mr. Ahmad briefed the Governor about the measures being taken by the J&K Bank to advance loans to the artisans, craftsmen, un-employed youth and others for establishing their own ventures under various self-employment schemes.
The Governor complimented Mr. Ahmad on the high ratings recently secured by the J&K Bank and the awards received for the high level of operational efficiencies achieved by J&K Bank. He urged the Chairman to ensure that the Bank continued to play a significant role in speeding up all round growth and development in the State.
Meanwhile, Prof M P S Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, called on Mr Vohra.
The Governor, who is Chancellor of the Jammu University, discussed with Prof. Ishar issues relating to the effective implementation of the University’s objectives of teaching and research, particularly through sustained guidance to the affiliated institutions.
The Governor also discussed with the Vice Chancellor several important issues relating to the functioning of off-site Campuses.
Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor, was present on the occasion.
