JJSF relay fast concludes; NSUI among others pay tributes to student martyrs

JAMMU, Oct 18: National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists and several others paid their rich tributes to the students martyrs of 1966 while the three-day long relay fast as a token of respect for the martyrs, being observed by JJSF activists near the Martyr Memorial in front of GGM Science College also concluded today.
Principal of GGM Science College, Dean Cluster University and Team Jammu Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal offered juice to the JSSF activists on fast and also paid tributes to the martyrs namely Gurcharan Singh, Brijmohan, Gulshan Handa and Subash Chand, who lost their lives in police firing during an agitation in 1966.
NSUI activists, led by their State president Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, visited the Martyr Memorial and paid floral tributes. NSUI President said that these martyrs will always remains in the hearts of students as a source of encouragement as they lost their lives while raising their voice against the discrimination with Jammu region. He also urged upon the students community to show active interest in the social issues in general.
Anuj Manhas, Vikas Bhodaria, Mohd Yaseen, Satish Kumar, Basharat Latief, Akshay Sharma, Anirudh Raina, Ghulam Ahmed, Nitin Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Varun Joshi and others were among those who paid their tributes to the martyrs.
