JAMMU, Nov 30: Jhajjar Kotli police today foiled bovines smuggling bid with the arrest of three persons and rescuing of 15 bovines, which they were smuggling to Kashmir valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka at Domail and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck (trailer) bearing registration number JK03D-8921.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Ashiq Hussain, son of Ghulam Nabi Rishi and Adil Mohammad Wani, son of Mohammad Yausaf Wani, both residents of Wachi, district Shopian.
The accused were trying to smuggle the bovines to Kashmir valley, but their bid was thwarted by the active cops of Jhajjar Kotli police station.
A case under FIR number 147/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khaliq Choudhary, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
