JeM militants slip out

SRINAGAR, Jan 20: A group of Jaish-e-Mohammad militants gave slip to security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar after an operation was launched against them tonight.
Security forces tonight received information about presence of around three militants of JeM in Ontabawan area of Srinagar. As they reached the spot they were fired at and militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Security forces cordoned off Ontabawan and conducted house to house searches but no militants were found. This is for the second time in last 10 days that militants slipped out the cordon in Srinagar. On January 13, two militants gave slip to security forces in Lal Bazar area.
In the meantime, militants this evening hurled a grenade at a Police Station in Shopian district of South Kashmir. However, there was no report of any damages.
The grenade was hurled at Shopian police station this evening which exploded outside. There was no report of loss to life or the property.
Yesterday, eight cops were injured in a grenade attack on Police Station Pulwama in South Kashmir.
