Jeera futures decline 0.76% on weak demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 5:  Jeera prices were down by 0.76 per cent to Rs 15,100 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions, triggered by subdued domestic as well as export demand at spot market.
In addition, adequate stocks position in the physical market further fuelled the downtrend.
At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August month edged lower by Rs 115, or 0.76 per cent to Rs 15,100 per quintal with an open interest of 14,310 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 105, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 15,360 per quintal in 10,830 lots.
Analysts attributed fall in jeera prices at futures trade to trimming of positions by speculators, driven by low domestic and export demand in the spot market. (PTI)
