KISHTWAR, Sept 26: Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana has suspended a Junior Engineer (JE) for indulging in political activities.
As per official spokesman, DC Angrez Singh Rana who is also District Election Officer took serious note of a video circulating in some social media groups wherein JE in R&B Department Division Kishtwar namely Raj Kumar Badyal has been seen delivering political speech and accordingly DC placed the erring JE under suspension with immediate effect.
He also ordered that the said JE will remain attached in the office of Chief Engineer R&B Department Jammu.
DC while terming the conduct of erring JE as gross violation of provisions of J&K (Classification, Control and Appeal Rules) of 1956 read with J&K Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971 stated that a Government official is required to maintain neutrality and should not indulge in any activity which is unwarranted and also amounts to unbecoming of a Government servant.
In view of ensuing ward and Panchayat elections, he advised all the employees to strictly adhere the Model Code of Conduct and warned that in case if any employee will be found involved in any type of political activity or otherwise which amounts to violation of Model Code of Conduct shall be dealt strictly under rules and no leniency will be provided in favour of defaulting officer or official.
Meanwhile, Imam Din Additional District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar has been appointed as enquiry officer in the matter who has been asked to conduct discreet enquiry regarding the misconduct shown by erring JE. Further, Chief Engineer R&B has also been asked to keep close watch over the day today activities of the said JE on daily basis.
