POONCH, June 8: Deputy Commissioner Poonch today suspended a Junior Engineer of Jal Shakti department working in Mandi area and asked Executive Engineer to explain his position with regard to poor control over subordinates, encouraging in-subordination and failure to ensure discipline and punctuality in the field.
Official sources said that action was taken against the JE after Tehsildar Mandi reported regarding the water disruptions in many areas of Tehsil Mandi. It was also reported that JE concerned has not visited these areas for the last about one and half month. Even the JE did not attend six Block Diwas to which public issues pertaining to Jal Shakti department could not be redressed. Large number of complaints were being received from various places, the reports said.
In view of these complaints, Mohd Hanief, JE Jal Shakti department was placed under suspension with immediate effect and was asked to report to Tehsildar Mandi. It was further ordered that Executive Engineer shall initiate disciplinary action under relevant service rules and submit action taken report to Deputy Commissioner’s office.
