JE of BDO office caught accepting bribe

SRINAGAR, July 9: A Technical Assistant (JE) in BDO office Khansahib Budgam was caught red handed by Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2000.
A special surveillance squad of Vigilance Organization Kashmir, under the supervision of SSP (ABP) Altaf Ahmad Shah, caught red handed Mir Mohammad Maqbool Technical Assistant (JE) who was demanding and accepting an amount of Rs 2000 from the complainant Mudasir Ahmad Ganai as illegal gratification.
The accused was demanding bribe for release of payment amounting to Rs 90,000 in favour of the complainant on behalf of job card holders relating to construction of work of lane under MGNREGA scheme at Kulbugh Khansahib Budgam. Though he demanded an amount of Rs 10,000 from the complainant, on insistence of the complainant, it was settled for Rs 2000.
Following a complaint in this regard, a successful trap was laid by Vigilance sleuths who caught the accused red handed and also arrested him. The trap team was led by Inspector Abdul Rashid Khan and assisted by staff members.  Further investigation into the case is in progress.
