JDA seals 14 shops

JAMMU, Nov 11: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today sealed 14 shops at village Domana.
According to a handout, the khilafwarzi wing of JDA has sealed 14 shops at Nardini and Raipur Domana Chowk as part of its anti-encroachment drive.
The operation was conducted by the enforcement wing of JDA under the supervision of Tehsildar, JDA Zone-A on the directions of  Vice Chairperson, Director Land Management JDA,  headed by Khilafwarzi Officer/Inspectors and officials of enforcement wing of Jammu Development Authority.
The shops were constructed in contravention of BOCA Act-1988 for which notices were already given but the construction was still going on. The shops were sealed under Section 7(3) of COBA and spurdnama was handed over to SHO Domana.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson of JDA Sushma Chauhan has directed the khilafwarzi wing and tehsildars of JDA to prepare the list of ongoing violations and take cognizance under the provision of Jammu Master Plan.
Notices under Control of Building Operations Act 1988 are being issued to the violators falling under the Jammu Development limit and strict action will be taken against them under rule.
Vice Chairperson, Sushma Chauhan has asked the people to apply for building permission, in case their cases falls within JDA limits. She also assured that their cases shall be dealt on priority basis without any delay. She has also informed that general public that building permission sancvitoned by concerned BDOs/Sarpanchs within the jurisdiction of JDA are not valid and constructions being raised in accordance with BDO plans are in violation of Jammu Master Plan.
