JAMMU, Oct 12: In continuation to the drive of retrieval of land from encroachers, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) has retrieved 68 kanals of more land with the assistance of DC Samba at Vijaypur.
According to the VC JDA, the drive was part of earlier drives launched on the directions of the High Court.
Reliable sources said that many stake holders are trying to scuttle the process of evictions by one or the other pretext but the team of JDA under the command of present VC JDA is firm to deal with mafia and rent defaulters.
It is learnt that JDA has made a blue print for starting a mega scale operation in Sidhra and Ware House after the festival of Diwali.
The defaulting shopkeepers at Bahu Plaza have been identified for sealing their establishments and advocates have been hired to contest cases against defaulters in various courts, sources maintained.
