JDA official suspended for harassing girls

JAMMU, July 22: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) Vice Chairman, Satish Nehru today ordered suspension of Amrik Singh, Computer Assistant, for alleged sexual advances made by him to female candidates, who had applied for jobs in the organisation.
The female candidates along with their parents appeared before Mr Nehru and gave evidence of telephonic calls made by Singh to the girls seeking sexual favours for the jobs they had applied for in the JDA.
Mr Nehru said he acted on the complaints and had ordered suspension of Amrik Singh, who was working as Computer Assistant in the organisation.
A department inquiry has also been ordered against him, he added.
Singh, as per the complaint, had been calling the girls on the telephone numbers mentioned in the application forms and asking them to meet him for sexual favour if they wanted the job in the JDA.
