JAMMU, Mar 29: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) foiled land grabbing attempts in Trikuta Nagar and Sidhra.
As per official spokesman, information was received that some persons backed by political leaders are trying to grab State land for the construction of temple.
Acting swiftly, VC JDA took up the matter with IGP Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh Jamwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. He also took up the matter with ADC Arun Sharma.
Official spokesman added that a team of JDA headed by DLM DS Katoch, Khilafwarzi Wing, ADC Jammu Arun Sharma and a team from concerned police station foiled the bid to garb prime land at Trikuta Nagar valuing to the tune of Rs 15 crores.
In Sidhra, a Numberdar Majeen namely Javed Ahmed Mir had raised kiosks with an intention to encroach the State land, official said, adding that JDA team removed the encroachments.
