JDA employees threaten to launch fast-till death

JAMMU, Aug 16: On the 6th day of chain hunger strike launched by JDA Employees Union in the premises of JDA Complex Railway Road Jammu the union president Ashok Singh threatened to launch fast till death from August 17 in case their demands were not conceded.
Ashok Singh intimated that all the vehicles attached with officers of JDA along with drivers would remain stranded in the poremises of Vikas Bhavan and that the field staff will not visit their respective areas.
Their demands pertained to appointment of beneficiaries under SRO 43 as per norms adopted by other line departments; filling up of vacant posts of JDA cadre in the forthcoming DPC, which have fallen vacant due ti retirement or death of employees; stopage tomisuse of JDA exchequer in unfruitful purchases; relaxation in age, qualification in cases of daily wagers, consolidated and safai kramchariis; allotment of plots to rest of employees who were left out without any plot in any colony; stopping of leave and pension contribution provided to officers who are on deputation from other departments and same should be recovered; repatriation of over-stayed officials; finalization of draft recruitment rules of JDA for promotion and welfare of employees etc. Various other demands were also voiced and the authorities urged to concede the same at an earliest.
