JAMMU, Aug 9: The JDA Employees Union (JDAEU) staged a sit-in protest on 2nd consecutive day, today in support of their demands.
A large number of JDA employees under the banner of JDAEU assembled in front of the office premises of Vice-Chairman (VC), JDA, at Vikas Bhawan and started raising slogans in support of their demands, which include appointment of beneficiaries of deceased employees of JDA under SRO 43, relaxation in age and qualification in cases of daily wagers, consolidated employees and safai karamcharis, allotment of plots in fresh colonies to the rest of the employees, who are deprive of the same, stopping leave and pension contribution provided to the officers of other departments who are on deputation in JDA.
The union also demanded finalization of the draft recruitment rules of JDA for the promotion/welfare of JDA employees, grade to helpers, who have passed the eligibility test, stopping of encroachment and demarcation of land transferred to JDA as per the directions of High Court, repatriation of overstaying employees to their parent department, stopping engagement of six retired revenue officials on consolidated pay, as sanctioned posts are already filled.
Besides, the demands of  transfer/posting of Farooq Ahmed Bhat (Tehsildar) at Head Quarter without any sanction post as per budget of JDA, taking safeguards in newly carved out colonies and keeping the order issued vide No JDA/Estt/475-96 dated 28-07-2017 in abeyance were also highlighted by the union members.
