JCO injured in explosion

Srinagar, Sept 8:  A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of Army was injured today at the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam sector of Kupwara when he stepped over a landmine.
Sources said that the JCO stepped over a landmine at the LoC in Nowgam sector during a regular patrol this morning. They said that the land mine was part of a mine field planted by the Army and it had drifted due to landslide. It went off when the JCO accidentally stepped over it, blowing up his leg.
The JCO was airlifted to 92-Badami Bagh Base Hospital in Srinagar, where his limb was amputated.His condition is said to be out of danger.
