JCMS holds working committee meet

JAMMU, July 10: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) today organized a meeting of its working committee at Mahajan Hall, under the presidentship of Vinod Kumar Gupta.
The meeting was attended among others by chief patrons, office bearers and members of working committee including Manohar Lal Gupta (ex-president), Shiv Partap Gupta (senior vice president), IG (Retd) Prem Gupta, SK Gupta and OP Gupta, chief engineer (Retd), Ratan Hindu, Raghubir Gupta, Surinder Mohan Gupta, Ram Rattan Gupta, Krishan Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Dr Madan Gopal Gupta, Dalip Gupta and Chander Shekhar Gupta.
During the meeting, the president of the Sabha apprised the participants of various developments after the last working committee meeting held on June 26, 2016. He said that a meeting of office bearers was held on June 28 in which minutes of the meeting held on June 26 was unanimously endorsed.
The president said that a meeting of elders/prominent Mahajans was held on July 3, wherein it was unanimously decided to take steps to create healthy and peaceful atmosphere o the scenario created due to unfair election process and as a step towards that a five member committee was constituted with the mandate to obtain withdrawal letters from all the candidates and find out a consensus candidate for the post of president.
He said that committee furnished its report on July 8 indicating that they did not receive withdrawal from all the candidates, which led to convening of working committee meeting today.
During the meeting, it was resolved to conduct elections on September 25 and as per requirement of constitution name of Surinder Mohan Gupta was proposed and approved as Election Commissioner by working committee.
