JCCI approves amendments, gets nod for Business Club

JAMMU, Dec 20: In special general meeting of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries held here late last evening, some amendments in the present Constitution of the Chamber and approval for the construction of Business Club, were secured from the house.
A Chamber spokesman said that the special meeting was held under the chairmanship of JCCI president Rakesh Gupta, which was attended by 751 members including present and some former JCCI office bearers. Eight agenda points were mainly taken up during the meeting and were approved with majority vote. On certain points hardly a couple of members were against the agenda points.
The general house approved the demolition of unfinished structure at Chamber House ( Rail Head Complex) and construction of Business Club for the members, cancellation of membership of the members who have defaulted on account of annual subscription from 2003 to 2014, according last opportunity to the members who have defaulted on account of subscription from 2014-2017, approval of disciplinary action against members who were served notice under section 9(b) of the Constitution of CCI, amendments to the present Constitution of JCCI and purchase of bronze statue of Lord Krishna costing Rs 2.80 lakhs for Chamber House.
The Chamber later, approved the suspension of one of the members, OP Kesar for the alleged anti-Chamber activities for a period of five years.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included former CCI presidents-Vijay Aggarwal, Romesh Chander Gupta and Prithvi Raj Gupta, former secretary general Arun Gupta, JCCI senior vice president Rajesh Gupta and others.
