JAMMU, Nov 1: Members of the core group of the State employees’ Joint Consultative Committee have claimed that employees would conduct `Gherao’ of Civil Secretariat in Jammu on November 6 and observe strike the next day.
Senior members of the group, Kulwant Singh, Ganesh Khajuria and Gafoor Dar said that as already announced by senior JCC leaders in Srinagar, the employees under JCC’s banner would conduct `Gherao’ of the Civil Secretariat on November 6 and observe State-wide strike in Government and PSU offices on November 7. They said a protest rally will be taken out from Press Club on second day (November 6) of the opening of Secretariat in the winter capital here. The workers will move towards Civil Secretariat.
The protest rally is being organized to express resentment against the failure of Government to address the pending genuine issues of the employees which included release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, regularization of daily rated/ consolidated workers, removal of pay anomalies and enhancement of retirement age of the employees.
