JCB operator killed due to landslide

RAMBAN, Dec 31: A JCB machine operator was killed due to landslide in Mehad area on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, here.
As per police sources, a JCB machine was loading a truck during ongoing execution work of four laning of Jammu-Srinagar national highway, when the landslide took place and the machine along with the driver got trapped under the debris.
After hectic efforts, the driver was pulled out of the debris and shifted to District Hospital Ramban where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar (27), son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Chenani District Udhampur.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites.
Ramban police has taken cognizance in this regard.
