MENDHAR, Apr 30: To express their gratitudes to local MLA Javed Ahmed Rana for his untiring efforts in getting transferred State land measuring 1255 kanals and 10 marlas situated at villages Sanai and Kalaban to the Higher Education Department for establishing campus of the University of Jammu, people of Mendhar thronged Bhimber Gali (BG ) where a public meeting was held.
Addressing the gathering, Javed Rana credited the people of Mendhar for all his successful endeavours and reiterated that people have been his greatest source of strength in hard times.
While referring to people trying to take political mileage out of these developments, Rana stated that people are aware of their credibility and should pay no heed to these hollow and misleading tactics. Everyone should instead join hands for constituencies’ development.
He said beside a centre for excellence, this place will turnaround the tourism potential and provide employment opportunities to villagers on the shadow of the ridge that run west from Buffliaz to Krishna Ghati on LoC.
Rana claimed that as a legislator, he got sanctioned several key developmental projects of his constituency including a web of road projects under different State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Rana listed his achievement of getting sanctioned and released funds to the tune of Rs 14 crore for two bridges upstream and downstream of Mendhar Nallah in town under CRF, approval of two main road projects one from SK to Charoon Gali via Naka Nabni Chungan and other Keni to Barilla via Bhagyote Kasblari under NABARD.
Rana also reiterated his demand for Pir Panjal Hill Development Council (PPHDC) for twin border districts, Rajouri and Poonch, to attend to the unique developmental and other issues of the region.
