JAMMU, Apr 21: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today met several delegations at Civil Secretariat, here, and listened to their grievances.
A delegation from Sidhra called on the Minister and apprised him of the difficulties being faced by residents due to irregular water supply and inadequate tanker services in the area. The Minister took immediate note of the concerns and directed the concerned officers of the Jal Shakti Department to ensure improved water supply and streamline tanker services on priority.
Another delegation comprising casual labourers of the Wildlife Department projected their long-pending service issues and honorarium-related concerns.
A separate delegation from the Bagh-e-Bahu area also met the Minister and sought installation of a tube well to ensure adequate and safe drinking water supply for local residents.
The Minister assured the delegation of immediate action and directed the concerned authorities to examine the feasibility and take necessary steps at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Javed Rana chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review the status of infrastructure upgradation of Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar.
During the meeting, the Minister took a comprehensive review of the progress on ongoing works and emphasised the need for timely completion of all projects to strengthen academic infrastructure at the college.
It was resolved that the ongoing infrastructure works, particularly the Girl’s Hostel, shall be completed on priority to ensure adequate residential facilities for girl students.
