KATHUA, Feb 17: Reiterating his commitment to provide better civic amenities to the people, BJP State general secretary and MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia has said that massive development activities have been launched in Kathua Constituency to ensure safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the State.
This was stated by MLA while interacting with the people after laying foundation of various development works including Park at Barwal at the cost of Rs 5 lakh under State plan by Floriculture Department, Lane and drain work at Krishna Colony Kathua at the cost 10 lakhs, inauguration of lane and drain at Ward 14, at the cost of four lakh along with Purshotam Singh, Ravinder Pathania, Vidya Sagar, Capt (retd) Balbir Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Sanjeev Vaid, Kulwant Singh and all villagers.
MLA said with the starting of these works, the long pending demand of the people has been redressed, adding that necessary instructions have been given to the concerned engineers to complete the works within stipulated time frame. He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas stressed the need for public involvement in the developmental activities and said that without their cooperation his objective of taking Kathua’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
He said an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes. He said various reformative measures have been introduced to extend improved basic amenities to the people of the State especially those living in rural and far-flung areas.
He appealed the people not to encroach Government land adding that the same will invite strict action. He said that his aim is to provide all basic amenities to the people of his Constituency.
