Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, May 15: BJP MLA from Kathua and Party general secretary Rajiv Jasrotia along with BJP Prabhari for Samba district, Aseem Gupta called on Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today and apprised him of the various problems of the people. The two leaders while apprising the CM of the problems being faced by the farmers said that the farmers of Jammu region have been put to heavy loss as their entire Rabi crop was damaged due to recent heavy rains. They demanded that the loss be assessed by the joint teams of revenue and Agriculture Departments and the farmers be paid early compensation for the same so that their future is secured. The problems being faced by the people due to bad condition of roads, water scarcity and power cuts were also discussed with the CM and the two leaders stressed on creation of such a mechanism so that an everlasting solution is found to these problems. They demanded that both long term and short term policies should be adopted to solve the power curtailment, water scarcity and other problems. They demanded that immediate steps be taken for restoration of roads so that the people are relieved of the problems. Besides a long term policy be adopted to widen the narrow roads.
