JAMMU, Oct 5: Rajendra Tiku, contemporary Jammu sculptor, has been invited as visiting Professor by Musashino Art University, Tokyo, Japan.
Coffered with Padamshree, many national and international awards for his creative works and contributions to the field of visual arts, Rajendra Tiku is leaving for Tokyo tomorrow. During his stay at the Japanese University, he would conduct academic activities in the Laboratory of Sculpture and introduce to students his journey as a sculptor, areas of interest and the effect of surrounding and local landscape on his works.
One who specializes in carving out monumental stone sculptures, many of which are adorning metropolitan cites of the country, Rajendra Tiku’s would also give a demonstration and interact with students. He would also show a documentary on ‘Kavad’, the mobile wooden temples of Raja sthan.
