JAMMU, Feb 18: Janipur Police arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen scooty from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Pankaj Sharma, son of Suraj Parkash, a resident of near Bread Factory Janipur with Police Station Janipur stating that some unidentified persons have stolen his scooty bearing registration number JK02CA-6561.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 18/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Janipur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the vehicle lifter.
The arrested person has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, son of Charanjeet Singh, a resident of Shant Nagar.
On his disclosure, police also recovered the stolen scooty.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
