NEW DELHI, June, 27: Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament from Ladakh called on Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh here, today and appraised him of various issues pertaining to Ladakh region including Chinese PLA objection to carry out of various developmental activities.
The MP appealed the Rajnath Singh to sort out the problems pertaining with the civil transporters, Vegetable Marketing Cooprative Societies to smoothly supply of milk and vegetables. He also requested the Minister of Defence to engage the local civilian as porter at different military stations on preference basis. Ladakh MP appraised the Minister of Defence to open a new Air Force School in Ladakh region so students could get the good standard of basic education.
Jamyang also called on Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank the Union Minister of Human Resource Development and discussed with him the various challenges being faced by people of Ladakh region and highlighted the problems of education sector in his constituency. As he expressed that Ladakh is located at very remote and far-flung area of Jammu & Kashmir and remains cut off with the State as well as national capital for six to seventh months due heavy snowfall on National Highway to Ladakh. “Due to geographical as well as political constrain the State of education remained most deprived condition in Ladakh. State Government of J&K runs some higher secondary schools and most of them have lack of teaching faculties, infrastructures and other requisite facilities”, JTN explained. “Thousands of students from this region compel to migrate outside cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and many other cities to peruse their secondary education where financial burden as well as social pressure has to be faced”, he added.
Keeping all these point in consideration, MP Ladakh demanded the Minister of Human Resource Development to open five numbers of new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and eight numbers of JNV Schools in Ladakh region on priority base.
He also complimented the Modi Government for granting Deemed University status to the Bentral Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh and appraised the HRD Minister to speed up the completion of the formalities to be Deemed University of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) at the earliest possible.
