JAMMU, Oct 11: Chairman Health and Sanitation Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Narinder Singh Jamwal here today toured Govind Nagar Sector 2 in Himmat Colony of Ward 32 and took stock of the problems being faced by residents of the area.
The locals there told Jamwal that the Colony Developer has not constructed lanes and drains in the area due to which they are facing many hardships.
Jamwal was accompanied by Health Officer JMC Sanjogita Sudan, Chief Transport Officer Talat Mehmood, Sanitation Officer and Sanitation Inspector.
After listening to the problems of the area, the Chairman said that Govind Nagar is facing problems due to lack of lanes and drains.
He assured that all the issues relating to sanitation in the area will be settled in a time bound manner.
Jamwal issued on spot directions to the officials concerned to remove water-logging in the lanes, which was a result of absence of drains, with the help of super sucker machine till proper drainage system is put in place, paving the way for systematic disposal of waste water and ensuring optimum sanitation in the area.
A deputation of Govind Nagar residents also met Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan today in this regard.
