JAMMU, Apr 18: After three days, Jammu region reported first Corona positive case from Rajouri district today taking total cases to 55 and active to 41.
A 20 year old youth from Thannamandi in Rajouri district, who had returned to home district from Kashmir via Mughal Road, tested positive today.
He is under quarantine at Thannamandi and is being shifted to Chest Diseases Hospital in Jammu.

A total of 190 samples were tested today and barring one all others tested negative in Jammu region.
Only yesterday, Rajouri district had become Coronavirus free as its last two patients were discharged from the hospital after being treated.
Meanwhile, the administration in Union Territory of Ladakh sent back five trucks from Zojila Pass to Srinagar following reports that their operators had come in contact with a positive patient.
Another Corona positive patient from Gorkha Nagar area of Jammu district has tested negative for second consecutive time and if he passes all other tests, he will be declared as cured and then discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, City police today registered a FIR against former BJP MLA from Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, Deputy Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation Purnima Sharma (also a BJP Corporator) and another BJP Corporator Sandhya Gupta for violating lockdown and social distancing conditions during distribution of relief among needy people through the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Police said large numbers of people had gathered to get the relief which was violation of lockdown and social distancing after which FIR No. 24/2020 under Sections 188, 353, 269, and 270 was registered against the ex-MLA and the Deputy Mayor at City police station.
However, they haven’t been arrested.
Meanwhile, Gupta released photos of the event to the Excelsior saying all precautions had been taken to maintain social distancing by marking circles during distribution of relief through the JMC. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly been making appeals for feeding poor during lockdown and they were just following the directions to distribute relief among the people.
“The administration not only lodged the FIR against us but also seized the ration which was meant for distribution among poor people,” Gupta said and added that he will bring the issue to the notice of BJP president JP Nadda and Ram Madhav, general secretary for taking action against the police officials for not allowing ration to be distributed among needy people.
Authorities today released 27 people from quarantine in Kishtwar district and 21 from Thanna Mandi in Rajouri district after completion of their mandatory period.
Meanwhile, Commissioner/ Secretary (Health) Ladakh Rigzin Samphel told media persons that all 20 test samples received from New Delhi today were negative for COVID-19. All these 20 reports were from Kargil district.
As per an advisory issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that Iran returned pilgrims should be quarantined at different Army/Air Force centres in the country, such pilgrims hailing from Ladakh would be brought back after completing their quarantine period.
To a question of bringing the students studying outside back to Ladakh, Samphel said that there is no special airlifting service for the students.
However, he said, the administration is in close contact with the Student Unions/ Associations and assured of full support to them whenever needed.
Samphel further added that Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R.K Mathur also flagged off Mobile Medical teams of specialist doctors from Raj Niwas today to conduct health camps at village level in Leh district.
The Media Bulletin of the Directorate of Health Services of UT Administration Ladakh stated that the condition of all four positive COVID-19 patients of the UT is stable.
Health care services were being provided at door steps in village Wakha of Shargoke block. Sixty seven patients were examined there.
