JAMMU, Mar 6: Jammu city is continuously marching ahead towards unprecedented development, said Sanjay Baru, J&K BJP secretary and Councillor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Baru, while sharply reacting to a recent statement by former Minister and senior Congress leader, said that BJP promised Jammu to become Smart City in every sense and it will deliver its promise.
Baru said that Jammu till now was neglected for 70 long years by the Congress leadership. Now the failed Congress leadership blaming BJP for their own failures after being outrightly rejected in every region by the masses, he added.
Baru, said that Congress made sure that free, fair and continuous local elections remained elusive in the erstwhile J&K State so that it can taste all the delicacies of power and they did so as the corruption was made almost legal under Congress regime. He said that due to the absence of timely local elections, be it Panchayat or Urban Local bodies (ULB), J&K suffered for the want of funds and dedicated public representatives. He said that 73rd and 74th amendment in the Panchayat & ULB has been only seriously pursued by the local BJP leadership and not by the Congress men, who were dedicated towards amassing great wealth for their near and dear ones.
