JAMMU, Sept 24: The focus of the Government in making Jammu a Smart City has made the metropolis a contender of best cities across the country.
This was stated by senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta after kick-starting the blacktopping work at the estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh here at Channi Himmat area falling under Gandhi Nagar constituency. Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee, JMC, Raj Kumar was also present.
The BJP leader said that the number of development works are in progress in the Jammu city and the days are not far when the name of this city will find a place in the list of best cities across the country providing every modern civic infrastructure and other amenities which the developed cities around the world offer to their citizens.
Kavinder said that the situation of power and potable water has also improved drastically in the last few years and the BJP Government at the Centre is relying on a multipronged strategy to upgrade all the citizen-centric in one go and for this many development works are presently afoot in the region. He said that the Government in J&K has adopted a fast and reliable policy to ensure best modern amenities to the people without any hassle or hurdle.
“The people must have noticed various changes across the Jammu City in the recent time bringing new charm and colossal construction work going around to uplift the civic infrastructure and provide all the amenities to the people”, he said adding that the Government is making all possible efforts to change the development profile of Jammu by adding umpteen number of modern amenities.
The senior BJP leader categorically appreciated the role played by the corporators in the development of Jammu as a dazzling Smart City. He said that sooner than later Jammu City will find a place in the flock of best cities of the country by offering all the modern amenities to its citizens.
