A meeting of Jammu District leaders was organised today under the chairmanship of District president, (Urban) Jammu, Pranav Shagotra in which organizational and other public issues were discussed.
During the discussion, Shagotra said that the issue of unscheduled power cuts and drinking water supply was discussed in threadbare due to which the common masses in Jammu are suffering especially the mercury has crossed over 40 degrees Celsius.
He said that the PDD and Jal Shakti Department have failed to supply required electricity even in metered areas of Jammu City despite that the people are being charged for the usage of electricity which usually remains off.
“The water supply has been affected due to the continuous unscheduled electricity cuts. The people are buying water from the private tankers and it has put additional burden on the financially poor people of Jammu,” he said.
