JAMMU, Oct 28: Displaying exemplary courage, two medico daughters of Jammu have taken on anti-nationals and exposed the pro-Pakistan students at SKIMS Soura in Kashmir, who celebrated victory of Pakistan over India in the T20 World Cup match on last Sunday.
Dr Monika Langeh and Dr Ananya Jamwal of Jammu, who purportedly received death threats for confronting the pro-Pakistan students and their supporters, have shot to prominence and become heroes for the nationalist forces across the country.
The social media is flooded with the support to these two Jammu daughters from everyone, including common people to prominent personalities. Courageous @AnanyaJamwal12 and @drmonika_langeh are trending on twitter and other social media platforms with comments like `Nation is proud of you for exposing the bigots and traitors without fear.
“Proud of you for stand against the anti-national medical students of Kashmir who celebrated Pak victory. More power to you. We stand by your courage and guts to fight the white collared terrorists in the garb of students,” tweets Ashok Pandit, a renowned film maker and activist.
“Courageous daughters of Bharat Mata. Nation is proud of you for exposing the bigots and traitors without any fear,” tweets J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina. Prominent BJP leaders Kapil Mishra and Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga in Delhi are also among the people praising Ananya Jamwal and Monika Langeh for their courage describing them ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’.
Pertinent to mention that three videos of Medical students raising anti-India slogans and celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in T20 match at SKIMS Soura, shared by Dr Monika Langeh and Dr Ananya Jamwal had gone viral on social media thus exposing the anti-nationals pursing Medical studies in Indian Institutes at the cost of Indian tax payers money. Taking cognizance of these videos on social media, the J&K Police registered two cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against some medical students living in hostels at the Government Medical College Srinagar and SKIMS Soura.
The controversy erupted after one Twitter handle, Abdullah_Ghazi, alleged that Ananya Jamwal, an MBBS student at SKIMS Soura was the “culprit” and “police informer” who had lodged a complaint resulting in an FIR and UAPA charges against SKIMS students who celebrated Pakistan’s win over India.
Talking to the Excelsior, Dr Monika Langeh, who is presently working as a medico in New Delhi and was first to share the viral videos, reiterated that strict action should be taken against the culprit students and their degrees be cancelled. “Those who don’t’ love their country and are not loyal to the nation, can never be loyal to their patients. They don’t deserve to be doctor,” she stressed.
In response to the reports that non-locals studying in GMC Srinagar and SKIMS Soura are fearing harassment in view of the controversy, Dr Monika warned that any such attempt to target the outsiders would invite strong action. “Gone are those days of soft approach towards such elements, now the things have changed,” she added and exhorted people to come forward and raise their voice against anti-national forces.
Ananya Jamwal, who was pursing MBBS from SKIMS Soura and has now migrated to GMC Jammu, was main target of the supporters of Pro-Pakistan students because of her association with the SKIMS. Holding her responsible for the Police action, a person named Mehak Firdous shared an Instagram story in which she stated that “some vile and rogue elements have continued to abuse the hospitality of Kashmiris.”
Rejecting such claims, Ananya said that as a Medical student in Kashmir, she was not enjoying hospitality of anyone but SKIMS Soura, which is an Indian institute and situated in Indian territory.
“They (medical students in SKIMS Soura) are traitors and not my batch-mates. How can they support an enemy country which is abetting terrorism here? How can we expect them (the medical students) to serve people of our country?” she asked and demanded stern action against such anti-nationals.
Admitting that open threats were being issued to her and Dr Monika Langeh for sharing the videos of pro-Pak students, Ananya said that her parents and other family members remained very supportive to face the situation. “As entire country is with me, I don’t fear such rogue elements,” she said.
