Jammu Court grants 7-day police remand to Masrat Alam

JAMMU: The Jammu Court today granted seven-day police remand to Kashmiri Separatist leader Masrat Alam here.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Suneet Gupta today granted seven days police remand to Masrat Alam Bhat in various cases.

The CJM Jammu said Masrat Alam Bhat was taken into custody by the police station JIC Jammu and was initially taken into custody on the basis of suspicion following which the Investigating Officer sought some time to collect some incriminating evidence against the accused and for that, accused is required to be interrogated.

However, keeping in view the prayer made by the IO, CJM granted time to fetch some incriminating evidence against the accused and granted seven days police remand of Masrat Alam Bhat.

The CJM also directed the IO to produce the accused after expiry of remand period further directing him to intimate about the arrest of the accused to his close relatives and accused shall be medically examined after every 48 hours. (AGENCIES)
