Jammu civil society deliberates upon J&K situation, its effects

JAMMU, July 24: In their third consecutive meeting, civil society Jammu, comprising of prominent citizens, representatives of various social, religious , business and tour and travel organizations of Jammu province, held deliberations upon the prevailing situation in State in general and Kashmir Valley in particular besides its effects upon the law and order as well as economy of other parts of the State.
The meet unanimously passed six resolutions, seeking to maintain peace, communal harmony and law and order in the State at all costs; to formulate and promulgate policies and programs to achieve its objectives; to identify oppose and negate all individuals and organizations who disturb the peace and communal harmony, by interacting with civil society of Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region; to ensure that people of Jammu are taken into confidence for any matter pertaining to State; to ensure equal opportunities for all the three regions in respect of development, employment and distribution of resources and to ensure smooth conduct of all religious pilgrimage and preservation of historical monuments.
All the speakers and participants unanimously approved the proposed aims and objects of the Forum to be established by the civil society and authorized Th Gulchain Singh Charak and Abdul Majid to take further steps for short term and long term measures for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the forum and its expansion to other parts of the State. They were also authorized to constitute a committee of 31 members to transact the business of the forum and select a name for the Forum.
The committee comprised of G S Charak Abdul Majid (president Muslim Federation Jammu), Y V Sharma, Yash Paul Gupta, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Neeraj Anand, Rajesh Gupta, Farman Ali, Chander Gulati, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Kulbir Singh, Akhtar Hussain, S Peter , Ravi Mahajan, Khurshid Bhatt , M L Banalia, Choudhary Akhter, Sohail Kazmi, Asif Teji, Madan Rangeela and Shujaut Ali Khan.
