Jammu-Baltal helicopter service for Amarnath pilgrimage demanded

JAMMU, Mar 20: Activists of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta organised a rally demanding start of Jammu-Baltal helicopter service for Amarnath pilgrimage.
Addressing protesters Gupta said that helicopter services from Jammu-Baltal would be a big relief to the pilgrims as the waiting period would reduce in Yatri camps and the travel time would come-down from days to hours.
“Helicopter services from Jammu would also ensure boost to the tourism economy of Jammu which has been hit after the beginning of train services to Katra from Delhi,” the Shiv Sena leader said hailed J&K LG for starting battery car for the 1st time in Amarnath Yatra.
He said also demanded helicopter service from Srinagar to Baltal so that there can be cheaper pricing which can be availed by pilgrims.
“The model for helicopter service can be of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi type with affordable tickets,” he maintained.
He also expressed gratitude to the LG for 56 day Amarnath Yatra as last year the pilgrimage was for 13 days due to COVID-19 pandemic and in 2019 it was cut down as a precautionary measure because of Article 370 & 35A abrogation. Bantu, Sukhdev, Kalu, Prem, Vinay, Suknandan, Rampal, Krishan, Abhishek and others were also present in the rally.
