POONCH, Oct 26: Jamia Zia ul-Uloom, a Poonch based organization distributed relief material among the rain and flood victims of district Poonch today.
The Jamia conducted 24th camp in the premises of High School here and distributed 800 blankets and Rs 4 lakh cash assistance among the flood and rain victims of the area. The organizers of the camp divided beneficiaries in three categories. The people whose full houses were damaged were provided Rs 3000, for partial damage Rs 2000 and for partial Kucha houses Rs 1000 per family.
On this occasion, DySP Hqrs Poonch Deepak Digra was present as chief guest. Prof Jagbir Singh, Pardeep Khanna, Sharief Salaria, Retd Naib Tehsildar Bashir Khaki, Maulana Qamaruddin and Maulana Hussain were also present.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated initiative taken by the Jamia right from the first day of the devastation. Jamia also conducted relief camps at Lam in Nowshera and Surankote area. At Mendhar also one such camp was held. Maulana Ghulam Qadir who is chairperson of the organization is personally supervising the activities of the camps.
