JAMMU, Mar 12: Castigating Congress MLC Naresh Gupta over his accusations on Rs 1000 crore scam, the JAKFED Employees Trade Union has sought to explain that nothing adverse was found in the Government investigations and the entire controversy was a political vendetta.
“JAKFED is an apex level cooperative federation meeting its expenditures by generating its own resources and not even a single penny has been released by the State Government in form of budgetary support as is being done in the case of State run corporations and institutions,” said Chaman Lal Gupta, president of JAKFED Employees Trade Union, while talking to media persons, here today.
He alleged that the reported accusations of Congress MLC Naresh Gupta and others in this regard were aimed to tarnish the image of institution as well as employees of JAKFED. This issue has been raised number of times by some politicians for political mileage against the persons who happened to be associated with the working of the Institution, he added.
“The political vendetta has caused irreparable loss and affected the business of the institution as well as image of the employees which has resulted into adversely affecting the reputation of JAKFED, its staff and their families,” Chaman Lal said and asked Naresh Gupta to justify his allegations of Rs 1000 crore embezzlement.
“The amount so observed as embezzlement is only adjustment of rendered account and shortage against storekeepers and employees for which cases are still pending in different courts,” said Naveen Chander Sharma, another leader of the Union. He added that even then Minister for Cooperative Abdul Aziz Zargar had made a categorical statement in the House during his tenure that an amount of Rs 20 crore has been shown as pilferage and nothing adverse was found in the investigations conducted and Action Taken Reports submitted to the Government.
The JAKFED Employees Union also appreciated the stand taken by the Cooperative Minister Manohar Lal who strongly rebutted the baseless accusations made by the MLC.
